REPORTS OF LAMPING ON CANNOCK CHASE

We’ve been made aware of lamping taking place on Cannock Chase. As a result, the Rural, Wildlife & Heritage Crime Team will be increasing patrols in the area to deter and detect any illegal activity.

🔍 What is lamping?

Lamping is a form of hunting where powerful lights are used at night to dazzle animals—typically hares, rabbits, or deer—making them easier to catch or shoot. It’s often associated with illegal poaching and can cause significant distress to wildlife and damage to protected areas.

📞 If you have any information about individuals involved or suspicious activity in the area, please contact Staffordshire Police via 101 or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
